Located in the vibrant district of Hay Riad in Rabat, the DA MILENA restaurant project is an interior architecture realization designed by AGA Studio, an architectural firm in Rabat specializing in commercial and hospitality architecture.
Developed over a surface of 220 m² across a ground floor and mezzanine, the project involved transforming a raw commercial space into a fully designed Italian restaurant combining contemporary aesthetics, operational functionality, and immersive dining experience.
In a competitive restaurant market such as Rabat, architecture plays a strategic role. It is not only about designing a space but about creating an environment that strengthens brand identity, optimizes flows, and enhances customer experience. This project perfectly illustrates AGA Studio’s expertise as an architect in Rabat working on high-value commercial projects.
From the early design stages, the objective was clear: to create an elegant, warm, and distinctive space capable of standing out within Rabat’s gastronomic landscape.
The architectural concept relies on a strong spatial structuring through the integration of monumental arches that rhythm the space and provide an immediately recognizable architectural identity. These elements are not merely decorative but contribute to spatial hierarchy and the organization of different restaurant areas.
The materials were selected with great attention to balance sophistication and comfort:
This dialogue between noble materials and contemporary elements reflects a controlled architectural approach typical of a restaurant interior architect in Rabat.
One of the main challenges of the project was the management of the large interior volumes, particularly the ceiling height. Instead of visually reducing these proportions, the architectural strategy aimed to enhance them while creating a more intimate atmosphere.
A precise lighting design softens the perception of vertical space. LED strips integrated within the arches highlight architectural curves and create warm indirect lighting. Smoked glass pendant lights reinforce the intimate atmosphere, especially in the evening.
This approach demonstrates AGA Studio’s ability to act as an architect in Rabat mastering both the technical and sensory dimensions of commercial architecture projects.
Beyond aesthetics, restaurant design requires rigorous organization of customer and staff flows.
The ground floor hosts the main dining area structured around the central bar and a visible pizza oven. This element was intentionally designed as a visual focal point enhancing the immersive experience for guests.
The mezzanine provides a more intimate dining space suitable for groups or private dining experiences. Vertical circulation was carefully designed to ensure intuitive movement throughout the restaurant.
Custom-designed furniture maximizes the use of space while respecting safety and accessibility regulations applicable in Rabat.
Hay Riad is one of Rabat’s most dynamic districts in terms of restaurants and commercial activity. The project therefore needed to integrate into an active urban environment while asserting a strong identity.
The interior architecture was designed to meet the expectations of a demanding clientele accustomed to international standards. The elegant yet sober design allows the restaurant to stand out in Rabat’s culinary landscape.
This project confirms AGA Studio’s expertise as an architect in Rabat capable of delivering complex commercial projects combining design strategy, technical performance, and architectural coherence.
