At AGA Studio, an architecture and interior design firm located in Rabat Agdal, we recently carried out a patio redesign project that perfectly illustrates our approach: a subtle dialogue between Moroccan tradition and contemporary modernity.
A Moroccan patio, redesigned for today
The patio is an iconic space in Moroccan architecture. Both open and intimate, it represents the living heart of the home. In this project located in Rabat, our clients wanted to enhance the traditional identity of the space while incorporating contemporary design elements.
We have preserved the traditional spirit of the patio through:
- noble materials such as zellige and tadelakt,
- harmonious openings to living spaces,
- a sober and refined framing around the central patio.
While adding a modern touch with:
- custom-made furniture with minimalist lines,
- integrated benches in polished concrete,
- a palette of neutral tones enhanced by indirect lighting,
- Mediterranean vegetation chosen for its elegance and ease of maintenance.
